The Don’t Sweat Shop is an ongoing project initiated and managed by Ambiguous Horse. The purpose of the Don’t Sweat Shop is to provide a space where people can create their own designs and have them screen-printed onto T-shirts or other items on the spot. The Don’t Sweat Shop also aims to educate people about sustainable manufacturing and the social, environmental and ethical implications of their everyday actions as consumers.
At present, the Don’t Sweat Shop operates as a mobile unit, travelling to festivals and events giving people the chance to create their own merchandise. In the future, the Don’t Sweat Shop will be setting up as a permanent space within the City of Melbourne, hand-making all items from the ground up and inviting prominent artists to contribute designs as artists in residence.
