Tucked away in a shambolic studio high up in the labyrinth like corridors of the city’s famous Nicholas Building, one man and his scroll saw have forever changed the lapels of a brooch-loving Melbourne public. Lost in the Woods jewellery is the ultimate Melbourne laneway accessory, handmade and stemming from the kooky and unpredictable mind of local artist/designer Simon MacEwan, the mathematics is simple: You see it = You want it.

Simon MacEwan was raised in the wilds of Scotland. Since studying sculpture at RMIT, he has been involved in a wide range of art and design activities, from building periscopes to sculpting murals for casinos. More recently he has focused on making jewellery under the label “Lost in the woods”.
